My Race Track

Here is my race track.  It has a start and a finish line.  I worked on it all by myself.  I used a rock to make the tracks in the sand.

It looks awesome, William!  You have done a great job!

Pizza Sharing

In Maths, we have been learning what the word 'equal' means and how to share equally. Our teacher gave us a pizza that had been cut into halves or quarters. We had to pretend to be a pizza chef and make pizza toppings with play dough. We then had to share the toppings equally on to each piece of the pizza.

Our Car Ramp

Easy Blog Photo

Today we were making a car ramp outside. We learned lots about our play. We used puddles to clean our cars to reuse on the ramp. We had a problem where the cars were flying out the end of the ramp. We decided to use sand to stop the cars. Then we had another problem because the sand at the end created a type of sand ramp and the cars started flying over the ramp. We solved the problem by making the sand into a wall to stop the cars.

We had another idea to create a high ramp at the beginning of the track so we didn't have to push the cars so hard. We used blocks of wood to make one end of the ramp higher.

Comparing Houses

Easy Blog Photo
On our Friday Surprise Day we have been looking at a variety of houses and what makes them similiar and what makes them different.  Our buddy and I made a house out of playdough.  We didn't peek at our buddies house while we created them but when we finished we compared our houses.

"Our houses are different. Williams house is flat and my house isn't. Mine has a pathway that goes to the front door and to the pool. The waterfalls on my house starts from the roof. William's house has walls so does mine . William's has a bathtub and so does mine.  That is the same."

My Puppet

Easy Blog Photo
Here is a picture of William and his puppet, Earl. Te Kakano made puppets for Friday Surprise Day and our Whakangahau. We had to think about all the parts our puppets would need. We also had to show persistence to make sure the parts stayed on and looked how we planned it.

"My puppet has a moustache and has three eyeballs and has long hair. He is a monster."
